kapliczki

‘Kapliczki’ (greek Poskinitaria) is a collection of shrines. They were originally used by people in Greece to pray during the day. Nowadays, most of them stand lonely and neglected by the wayside and are relics of an era that is gradually coming to an end, which is emphasised by the decay of the shrines and symbolises the disintegration of tradition. For reasons of sentimentality and nostalgia, the series bears a Polish title, translated: Shrines.
